An Antique Diamond and Enamel 'Sweetheart' Brooch for 'The Prince Consort's Own Rifle Brigade, the badge a white and yellow metal Maltese cross with central circlet inscribed 'RIFLE BRIGADE,' enclosing a strung bugle surmounted by an Imperial (King's) crown, the cross enclosed by a laurel wreath entwined with seven scrolls on each side, all named with battle honours in gold and green enamel, the whole set with old round-cut and rose-cut diamonds. Condition: two small rose-cut diamond missing from the points of the cross beneath the crown, otherwise a rare example in good condition. 30x23mm, 6.00grms In gilt-tooled brown leather box with velvet and satin interior and printed name of Jewellers and Engraviers Longman & Longitharm, Waterloo Place, Pall Mall.
