AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY WALNUT MARQUETRY LONGCASE. the 11 1/2" dial with silvered chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, signed Hodgkin London on a brass two train five pillar movement striking to a bell, the moulded and fret carved hood with inlaid and stained trailing flowers, the trunk and base further inlaid with cranes, figures, stylised fish, birds and flowering urns, with pendulum, two weights, case key and winder, height 208cm

Appears to wind and strike and runs at time of cataloguing but functionality not guaranteed.

Movement possibly not original to case - seating board narrow and does not sit flat on cheeks, the case with worm damage and associated losses, lacking original rear supports, later replacements, warped and leaning.
