A Paris porcelain part-dessert service by Christopher Potter, Rue de Crussol - late 18th century, comprising a shaped oval comport (36 cm long); a 26.5 cm oval dish; two 20 cm square dishes (both a/f); four 22.5 cm circular dishes (one cracked); and sixteen 21.5 cm plates, all painted with scattered winged insects including butterflies and moths, some with gilt painted mark 'potter a paris'. * Condition: All with minor gilt wear. - Comport: Bruise to rim and long hairline beneath. No other faults. - Oval dish: In good condition. - Square dishes: On with larger star crack to well. The other with stapled repair to one corner of rim. - Circular dishes: Three in good condition. The fourth with star crack to well. - Plates: Ten in good condition with no faults. One with 3in hairline to rim. Three with small rim chip. One with large rim chip. One with small rim chip and star crack to rim.
