GHANDI, Mahatmar K ... ( 1869 - 1948 ) typed letter in red ink, signed by Ghandi, etc.addressed '' as at the Ashram, Sabarmati, 20th December''. He declines a request for a photograph of him, '' I am travelling just now and I have no photograph such as you want. you may not know that during recent years I have never sat for a photograph.'' The letter is badly torn on the folds without any loss. Also a single page note in a thick pencil hand on both sides of the paper, he discusses being at the Ashram, and silence, '' I am likely to be back on 14 th but then too I shall be wholly silent for four days.'' Also included are four extensively written in dairies/notebooks and a photograph album, six decorative menu cards, a hand tinted photograph of the chief Sidar to Maharajah of Jaipur etc. All contained in a small suitcase.
