Sudanese double-bladed Haladie dagger, late 19th Century, with two 8 1/4" inch, double-edged slightly curved steel blades etched overall with pious Arabic inscriptions, symmetrical polished bone grip with flared and stepped bolsters. Horizontal split to one side of grip. 20 1/4" inchs overall. These were a popular weapon used by the Samaniyya Sufis under Mahdi Muhammad Ahmad during the Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882.
