Military Cross engraved (Frank Evans Segar 5th Att 1st Cheshire Regt, Forest of Nieppe, France 19.4.1918) in original case, 1915 Star Trio (2401 Pte F E Segar R.1-Devon Yeo) pair named (2.Lieut F E Segar). Comm 28.2.1917. MC L/G 16 Sept 1918 'For Conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Although wounded in an advance he attacked a superior number of the enemy, and in hand-to-hand fighting with bombs and bayonet personally accounted for three of the enemy'. Born Newton Abbot, Devon. He also went on to serve during WW2 as a Major, reported missing 28/4/1941 in Casualty List No 572. (L/G Oct 1938 lists him as a Capt with the 5th Devons). Died 9th August 1958.
