Paul Sormani (1817-1877) - A 19th-century French kingwood, parquetry and ormolu mounted petit commode; of serpentine outline, crossbanded and bordered with boxwood lines, with cartouche-shaped lattice flowerhead panels to the top and sides, the top flanked by further panels of trailing flowering stems, having a brass moulded edge, and projecting corners, containing three small drawers in the shaped apron, with foliate cartouche escutcheons, on tapered splayed legs, headed with scrolling foliage, terminating in sabots; 47.5cm wide, 36cm deep, 76cm high * The lock stamped P. Sormani, Paris 10r Charlot.
