A 19th century Burmese Mandalay dry lacquer seated figure of Buddha, seated in dhyanasana on a tiered, hexagonal base, decorated with bands of lotus, scales and snakes, the left hand lowered in dhyanamudra and the other in bhumisparsamudra, the face with serene, smiling expression, long earlobes and the hair in tight curls with a 'jewelled' edge band, 23¾in.
