A locomotive nameplate, SIR TRISTRAM, from a Southern Railway N15 King Arthur Class 4-6-0 No 448 built at Eastleigh in May 1925 and named after one of the most valiant of the knights of the of the round table in Arthurian Legend, becoming BR 30448. A long time Salisbury engine, it was withdrawn from there in August 1960 and cut up at Eastleigh Works. Cast brass, 39¼" long. (See also next lot).
