A FIRST WORLD WAR PAIR AND PLAQUE TO THE KING'S ROYAL RIFLES. A Great War Pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to R-32967 Cpl A.F. Mattocks K.R. Rif Co. Plaque named to Arthur Fountain Mattocks. Lance Serjeant Arthur Mattocks was the son of John Fountain Mattocks and Susan Mattocks of Holloway, London, and husband to Emily Mattocks of 5 Brettenham Road Walthamstow, Essex. He served with the 2nd Battalion of the King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was killed in action on the 30th March 1918 and is buried at Buffs Road Cemetery in Belgium, his headstone reads 'Until the day breaks and the shadows flee away my beloved husband', he was 34 years old. Framed and glazed with a photograph of the recipient. 40 x 35cm. *CR Frame distressed, not examined out of the frame. A lot fee of £8 inc.
