A late 18th/early 19th century paper-leaf fan decorated with 'Twelve of the most famous Country Dances and Six Cotillons with their proper figures'. Paper leaf mounted on 20 light coloured and unpolished wood sticks. Front of the fan is printed with musical scores and directions for the steps. Dances include 'Cap't Mackintosh's Fancy' and 'Nottingham Races'. Slight discolouration of wood sticks where fan has been handled and the paper has become detached in an approximately 2.5cm area on the final fold at the right of the fan. Approx measurements are 25cm tall by 44cm wide
