1994 Royal Mint Trial Piece £2 Coin, The First UK Bi-Colour Coin. A Royal Mint pack containing a trial £2 coin issued in 1994, when the Royal Mint were trialling the production of a new bi-metal coin to replace the older single metal £2 coin. This sailing ship design never made it into circulation. Included in the set is a complete trial piece and three different metals at different stages in the minting process.
