A VERY FINE PERSIAN KASHAN RUG, c.1950, hand woven in Ardekan, Kashan, North-West Iran. Material: The woollen pile is derived from lamb’s wool which has been hand spun to give a soft patina and the type of knot used is a Persian "Senneh" knot which allows greater durability. Hand woven by three weavers on a wooden loom over a nine-month period, with over 350,000 knots per square metre. Design: The distinctive central "Shah Abbas" medallion is the central focus of this rug. Condition: Very good.
