A late 19th century lantern clock, in the 17th century style, the four pillar, weight driven movement with strapped bell, urn finials and pierced crestings, the brass face with Roman numerals to chapter ring and lions head and wreath engraving surrounding 'Thomas Wheeler near the French church, Londini', on turned ball feet, 13in. (33cm.) high. * Thomas Wheeler was an active lantern clock maker from the mid 1650s in London.
