An Unmounted group of six comprising India General Service Medal with North West Frontier 1936-37 clasp named to 326585 F/Sgt F. Bidgood R.A.F.1939 and Atlantic Stars, War and Defence Medals, unnamed as issued, the War Medal with Mentioned in Dispatches oak leaf, and RAF Long Service and Good Conduct Medal named to 326583F/Sgt F Bidgood RAF. Unmounted with mounting bar.
Flight Sergeant Frederick Bidgood's Mention is recorded on the 25th November 1940, Gazette page 6178 for service in Waziristan. He enlisted as a civilian (Boy) between On the 18th January 1919. The award of the North West Frontier medal was Gazetted in 1936. Apparently he was wounded when in Singapore when he lost an eye. He was shipped out under fire on one of the last boats to leave, a refrigerator ship, at 6.00pm on the 11th February 1942. From this time he was often referred to as 'one eyed Ike'.
A Second World War and later group of four to the R.A.F. Comprising War Medal 1939-45, privately named to S/Sgt V.J. Bishop, Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal 1953, unnamed as issued, General Service Medal 1962-2007 with Malay Peninsula Clasp named to E0582013 Ch. Tech A.J.H. Bidgood R.A.F. and an RAF Long Service and Good Conduct Medal named to 582013 Sgt A.J.H. Bidgood RAF. Mounted as worn in this order, the Second World War Medal presumably a replacement.
Arthur James Henry Bidgood enlisted as an aircraft apprentice in 1945 at the age of sixteen. The Coronation Medal was awarded whilst he was serving as a Corporal Technician in Abu Sueir, Egypt. He rose to the rank of Flight Sargeant being an apprentice when war ended.

Two framed and glazed photographs of Bidgood in the rear seat of a Biplane flying over the North West Frontier. 35.5 x 40.5cm. The other images attached to the description have been provided by the family for information and no physical copy is included with the lot.
