THREE LARGE CRASH FRAGMENTS FROM AN AVRO LANCASTER.
Three large fragments from a crash sight, possibly including part of an oleo Leg structure. Apparently from the crash sight west of the Lech-river, West of Munich. The crash report for LL756 records that it was shot down on a bombing mission by night fighters on the 25/26 February 1944. These fragments originally recovered by Geoff Paine who served as a pilot in Flying Training Command. Sold with a photograph of the crash site and accompanying documents.
