A PAIR OF CHINESE HUANGHUALI DRUM STOOLS

late Qing dynasty, of lobed circular section, each with four ring handles to the body and on five out-turned feet, 42cm high (2)

Note: These are comparable to the Ming dynasty drum stools common in the homes and gardens of 17th century aristocratic China. A pair of which reside in the Minneapolis Institute of Art, accession number 97.89.1.
