A lawn tennis racket by F.H. Ayres of London circa 1880, with original intact strings the top of the head has a leather band for protecting the stringing, there are four rows of trebling to the top and bottom of the strings, the red leather collar has an unusual wire over collar, the butt end has a white leather strip, the racket measures 28 inches and the width of the head is 8.25 inches
