A pair of brass barrelled and brass framed flintlock boxlock blunderbuss pistols with spring bayonets, by Bunney & Son, Birmingham, c 1800, 12½” overall, 2 stage barrels 7” with bell mouth muzzles and octagonal breeches, the right hand flat of the breeches engraved with owner’s name “GEO. GALLOWAY”, with 6” spring bayonets beneath released by sliding trigger guard, and with Tower private proofs; the signed frames engraved with trophies of flags and sunburst; with top safeties which secure the frizzens, walnut slab butts with oval silver escutcheons, and horn tipped ebony ramrods on the left side.
