1850-61 INWARDS GROUP OF COVERS FROM RUSSIA OR ITALIAN STATES - 1850/55 pair of ELs from Taganrog: the first prepaid 12k to Odessa & then charged "1/11" on to Santa Maura with Taganrog & Corfu backstamps, the other apparently sent unpaid with Taganrog, Vienna & Trieste backstamps and charged "3/9½" on delivery in Corfu. Russian mail to the Ionian Islands is seldom seen. Also 1861 stampless covers (2): Messina to Cephalonia with unrecorded blue oval "J.D. VLACCO/MESSINA" FAC on the front posted in Corfu with grey-green Corfu small 2-ring "POSTA PAGATA" and cds; and Venice to "S.
