A Mughal Indian gold damascened metal tulwar sword hilt, 17th century. Probably forged in iron with floral and foliate damascened decoration throughout. The scrolling guard with inscription to the inner side purported to reference Mirza Muhammad Murad Bakhsh the youngest son of Shah Jahan. 7.4 in (18.8 cm) length. Condition report: Surface wear with age including some losses and split to one side as illustrated.
