DUBLIN SHIP LETTER WITH RED 5½d CHARGE MARK: 1831 EL from New Brunswick to London having a faint (as usual) fancy-framed crowned "SHIP LETTER/DUBLIN" d.s. on the front with three faint "5½[d]" (ship letter charge, English currency, Kane 457) handstamps, unusually struck in red. Apparently sent by private boat but rated "1/8½[d]" on arrival (5½d Dublin ship letter charge + 1/3d Dublin to London). Fine. Cross Reference: SHIP LETTERS
