A ship's bell and bridge wheel from the British Railway cross channel steamer, MAID OF KENT. The bell base diameter 6¾", lacking its clapper, on a wooden stand. The wheel 30" diameter with makers name Brown Brothers, Rosebank Ironworks, Edinburgh on the central boss. A plate added, Maid of Kent, Bridge Wheel, 1959-1972. Also a rudder indicator from the bridge, by Siemans, 12"x14" in chrome case. Accompanied by a makers plate, Babcock and Wilcox ship No. 1492 manufactured by William Denny and Brothers, aluminium, 13"x8". The ship was owned by British Railways, (Southern Region) and used on the Cross Channel routes between 1958 and 1972. (4) (Postage Band: N/A)
