Property of a lady - Royal interest - GEORGE, Hereford B. - 'Genealogical Tables' - 6th edition, Clarendon Press, 1930, with owner's pencil signature 'Elizabeth' (Princess Elizabeth - later H.M. The Queen) and date '1944' to front free endpaper, with further pencil notations by the Princess on three pages including the table of the royal family of Greece, and a loose slip of paper with notations by King George VI showing the genealogy of Prince Philip (to ascertain his suitability for marriage to the future Queen! They were subsequently married in 1947). Provenance - the present vendor's godfather was H.R.H. Prince Philip The Duke of Edinburgh. The present lot was given by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II to the father of the present vendor who was equerry to Prince Philip.
