Provenance:
According to the current owners, the vase was purchased from the J.F. Levi,the son of diplomat Daniel Levi.

Daniel Levi was a diplomat who worked at the French consulate in Yunnan, China. He has received this vase as a gift from the head of the provincial government,Long Yun 龍, governor and warlord of the Chinese province from 1927 to October 1945.



Pictured on the last photo is Daniel Levi and his wife, sitting beside Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India. The son of Daniel Levi, J.F. Levi, is pictured on the far right, seated on the ground (8 years old at the time). The picture dates from 1947, when Daniel Levi was ambassador in India.
