A mid-Victorian gem-set bee/insect brooch, the four outstretched wings set with rose-cut diamonds, ruby collet-set eyes and abdomen, sapphire collet thorax, mounted in silver and yellow gold (maximum width 2.8cm)

Condition Report: Overall condition fair commensurate with age, could be later 19th century or every possibility early 20th century.
Principal ruby: 6.3mm x 4.3mm x 2.8mm approx.) as collet-set. Has surface-reaching fracture in table facet (8 o'clock to 2 o'clock) visible in photo, inclusions as per fracture details.
Ruby eyes: each a slight angle. Each with a chip to the table/crown facets.
Diamonds: rose-cuts, generally face up though two longest in upper wings draw colour (as per photo) would benefit from a clean
Clasp: works but pin does not fit/hold firmly in scrolling hook
