19th century hardwood metal mounted 'Zanzibar' chest, with stud motif decoration and borders on brass panels, the hinged cover enclosing an open interior with candle box, over three short drawers, 38" wide, 18" deep, 17" high
the hinges at fault, one broken with loss and the other not fixed to the body of the chest - the vendors have included replacement hinges of the same style, modern locks to the lower three drawers, some colour bleaching but rich colour in person, creasing and irregular applied metal panels, some splits and separations to timbers but a heavy piece, see additional images attached here as a guide
