An interesting US Civil War era Embroidered Hanging Pocket possibly created by a Union soldier (JTS) for their Sweetheart. Chain stitch decoration on dark blue wool with silk back and edging. c1860s. The images depict Mount Calvary, Red Roses, arrow through heart and the US Shield and Eagle. Under the shield reads ' forget me not JTS'. H 45cm, W 8.5cm.
