Star Lot : A very handsome example of a genuine vintage, Garda Siochána uniform. This is an original 1940's-50s wool uniform in navy. Including a jacket with the ''P&T'' silvered buttons (Marked Sep 48) a pair of wool trousers (Marked Feb 55) and a J. Ireland & Sons uniform cap. (Marked Nov 52). Size XL.
This outstanding remnant of Irish history once belonged to Garda Micheal O' Connor, the father of artist Joseph O'Connor. O'Connor served in An Garda Siochána during the period of 1935-1956. This uniform set is complete with a 1920's photograph of O' Connor in uniform. An example of the cloak sold over estimation at Adams for €460. This comes with an original Photograph of O'Connor in his uniform.
