A Philips Challenge 13.5" terrestrial globe, circa 1970, raised upon a chromed meridian and a stained wooden plinth base, 32cm high

More Information

Several areas of loss/lifting to the equator line - see pictures for illustration. Many small to mid-sized splits to the lacquer (see pictures for illustration). The globe shows scratching, wear and light staining throughout, however much of the detail and the lettering remains crisp and clear. The hour circle is loose, moving around the pointer. The meridian ring is slightly wobbly in it's setting, some tightening required. The meridian ring shows heavy wear throughout (see pictures). The stand shows moderate scratching and wear commensurate with age and use, but no splitting and is stable on a level surface.
