A good mid-19th century Anglo-Indian carved ebony Planter's-style chair; the back and seat squab cushion against rattan caning, the slightly concave top rail elaborately carved with a central scallop-shell motif flanked by flowerheads and scrolling foliage, shaped moulded arms leading down to further foliate carving at the handles and with a front rail carved with stiff leaves, raised upon turned tapering front legs carved with Lappets and terminating in brass castors (101cm high x 78cm deepest and 65cm widest)
