c.1690-1730 Entire letters from (4) or to (2) Reigate including c.1725 letter to Kensington charged 2d with rare first type "RYGATE" handstamp (SY 526), c.1690 letter from Gatton to Lichfield and 1704 letter from Copthorn to Flanchford near Reigate both sent via London with Bishop Marks and a "2" charge increased to "In all 5", 1707 letter to London charged 4d, etc. Also a 1686 London Gazette with a postal notice on the post from London to Reigate, and three early maps of Surrey. A good lot, the c.1725 handstamp one of just two examples recorded by Latham & Gibbs. (10).
