A rare wholecloth quilt from Coleshill House Circa 1750, stitched with a repeat pattern of palm forms within diamond shapes, with a border of trailing flowers and leaves, 132 x 162 cm bears original card for the 1937 Art Treasures of The West Country Exhibition. Provenance: Margaret Bide Collection and previously the potter Katherine Pleydell Bouverie whose forebears lived at Coleshill House from the mid-17th C. to the mid-20th C. Provenance: Margaret Bide Collection.

Further info, diamond shapes 5 x 5 cm, border 6 cm, quilt made up in sections 38 cm wide. Condition, general pale discolouration more evident on one side, does not appear as a stain with a defined outline. A few tiny pin head sized rust coloured spots.
