A 19th century box and cover naturalistically modelled and painted in the form of a pug dog's head with large brown eyes and black snout, the metal mounted hinged cover painted after Murillo, depicting a scene of two urchins with a dog sitting in a gutter drinking wine (possibly Chamberlain Worcester), 11cms long.
Condition Report
There is a hairline crack running from the right hand ear through the right hand side of the head, approx. 3cms long. There's another very small hairline crack at the bottom of the head where it meets the plated collar, the plated mounts are tarnished and there is a slight paint chip to the nose.
