LADY PATRICIA RAMSAY R.W.S., R.W.A., N.E.A.C. (1886-1974) - Bermuda - Looking out from the shore towards the Great Sound. signed with initials V.P.R, (lower right), oil on board, 17 1/2 x 14 1/2in; together with another oil painting by the artist depicting a Bermudian coast view, said to be near Soncy, Bermuda, sized 14 1/2 x 21in, two (2).
Believed to have been painted by the artist on a visit to Bermuda c.1928
Lady Ramsay (formerly Princess Patricia of Connaught) was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She was an accomplished artist, and studied under Archibald Standish Hartrick. An Honorary Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. She became a member of the New English Art Club in 1931.
Provenance: Donated by the artist to a relative of the present Vendor.
