THOMAS CARLISLE (1795-1881), author and historian, 80th Birthday celebrated, copper medal, 1875, by Sir Joseph Edgar Boehm (1834-90) and George T. Morgan, a very sculptural bust left, reverse: legend and date, 56.5mm (BHM 3006; Eimer 1648), VF but many edge knocks & bruises. George Thomas Morgan (1845-1925), was to emigrate to America becoming an engraver for the United States Mint, where he gave his name to the 'Morgan Dollar'.
