Irish father & son family groups to include;
Father’s 1899 QSA three clasps Cape Colony, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 to 35180 Tpr J. Higgins 74th Coy Imp Yeo (Dublin Coy) unofficial rivets between 1st and 2nd clasps good very fine.
1914-15 Star trio to 1093 Pte J. Higgins N. Ir H. good very fine. With some typed research, John Higgins was born in Lurgan 10 Jan 1868, enlisted in Imp Yeo 5 Mar 1901, returned home 1 Sep 1902, re-enlisted in North Irish Horse 31 Aug 1914, to France 1 May 1915, transferred to Labour Corps Aug 1917, discharged 9 Jun 1918 no longer physically fit.
Son’s 1914-15 Star trio 3307 Pte S. Higgins R. Innis Fus, polished fine to very fine. With four copied pages of service record and casualty list, Samuel Higgins attested for 4th Bn in Belfast 12 Jun 1914 aged 18, mobilised 6 Aug 1914, suffered a gunshot wound to left foot in Gallipoli 28 Apr 1915 with 1st Bn, in July 1918 suffered from shell shock, later hospital admissions for neurasthenia.
