Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) - a large and heavy pale-celadon and russet jade carving of a saddled horse set to rear. Its left foreleg raised on two scrolls and its head turned upwards to the right. Well-modelled eyes, nose and mouth, and the neck with finely incised mane above a well-rounded shoulder and chest. The saddle carved in 17th century style, draping and curling to meet the rear legs above the fetlocks. Unusual carved and finely incised bifid-style tail. (16.5 cm wide x 18 cm high).  (Approx. 1.7 kg)
