FANCY FRAMED CURVED "MALTA" ON DISINFECTED COVER FROM IONIAN ISLANDS TO G.B.; 24 June 1821 EL (long interesting contents) from "Argostoli, Island of Cefalonia" to Yorkshire with two disinfection chisel-slits, having a partial 2-ring "[CORFU?]/IONIE! mark with manuscript "5½"(?) in centre, but also charged "3/4" with a very fine fancy framed curved "MALTA" (MSF-1c) nicely placed at top left. The contents include references to problems between Greek refugees and Jews in the Ionian Islands leading to extra night patrols. Rare thus.
