Edwardian SS Clan Macnab Merchant Ship Presentation Silver Cigarette Case.
The front of the case is engraved with the crest of the Clan Line “CAPT E.H. NOWELL RNR FROM THE OFFICERS OF THE SS CLAN MCNAB MARCH 1906”. The gilt wash inside engraved with a list of the Officers. Bearing silver hallmarks for Chester 1903. Engraving clear.
The SS Clan Macnab was a cargo ship of the Clan Line launched in 1904. Pressed into war service during the Great War she was converted to a armed merchant ship and was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine on the 4th August 1918.
