AARON MANBY and Horseley Iron Works, 150th Anniv, silver medal, 1972, by Vaughton, the Aaron Manby, the first 'Bateau a Vapeur en Fer', 25gms, 38.5mm, numbered 405, in case; modern bronze Railway medals (5), Richard Trevithick (2), 51mm; The Rocket; The Railways Act; Stirling and Footer, each 44mm; first mint state, others extremely fine. (6) The Aaron Manby, named after her builder, was the first iron steamship to go to sea. Built in parts at the Horseley Ironworks and assembled at Rotherhithe, she sailed to Paris in June 1822.
