A Victorian brass-inlaid rosewood lap desk, the sloping lid centred by a brass plate depicting a stag and a hind engraved 'CGB' (Constance Gore-Booth) the fitted interior containing two rosewood inkwells and bearing retailer's label for Palmer's, 1 St James' Street. 14" wide, 10" deep, 3½" high (36 x 25 x 9cm)
Provenance: Collection Loretta Clarke, Ballina, whence purchased by the current owner.
