A Rumney Tramroad milepost, RUMNEY ROAD 4. This early line was built by George Overton and opened in 1826, gauge 4'2". It connected the Rhymney Ironworks with the Monmouthshire Railway at a point that would later be known as Bassaleg Junction. The company was absorbed by the Brecon and Merthyr Railway in 1863. Cast iron, height 37", complete with a fabricated C/I base made by the vendor in order to display the post vertically. (Dispatch by Mailboxes/Collect from Banbury Depot)
