(20.3 x 24.1cm.). * Provenance: The studio of the artist Charles Higgins (British, 1893-1980) according to a label on reverse for Duncan R Miller Fine Arts. The label also includes a quotation from the memoirs of Sir John Gielgud "An Actor and his Time" relating to the subject of this watercolour. "In the main though my memories of a London childhood are happy ones....there was the Muffin Man with his big dinner bell and the tray on his head covered with a green baize cloth......".
