£3,800
A large Chelsea figure, Emblematic of Touch, from the Senses, of a lady seated holding a hawk, resting her foot in a tortoise, before bocage, in the white, 34cm high, red anchor period c.1752
A similar allegorical figure is illustrated in "English Porcelain Circle Transactions," No. II (1929) from the Alfred Hutton Collection
Wonderfully modelled figure, particularly the hands and feet. Some discoloured manufacturing blemishes to the glassy glaze, which in places has pooled; expected pitting. The base and bocage with some losses, and more frequent chipped losses to bocage. Her outer left thigh has a stained hairline. There are further firing stresses and faults in places throughout, however they are stable. Please see attached images.
