AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY BURR ELM AND OAK LONGCASE, the case of small proportions having a caddy top above a glazed hood door on slender trunk and box base enclosing an 11" square brass dial with gilt masked spandrels and Roman chapter ring surrounding a matted engraved centre with alarm disc and original steel hand fronting a 30-hour weight driven movement with elongated plates to allow for the alarm train, striking on a bell. (207cm high not including finials. )
