A 1914 STAR TO THE ROYAL BERKSHIRE REGIMENT. A 1914-15 Star named to 17952 Pte A.F. Froome R. Berks R. Albert Frederick Froome was born at Broadmoor Hospital, the son of the blacksmith at the hospital, he enlisted on the 14th May 1915, and entered the conflict in France on the 5th October 1915, and was reported as being wounded on the 26th October 1916, and was discharged on the 18th May 1918 as a result of wounds received, he was issued with Silver War Badge 367,700. He served with the Observer Corps in later years. He died in Weston Super Mare in 1968.
