AN 1856 PATTERN PERCUSSION FIRING RIFLE. With a 90 cm barrel with two band fixings, indistict stamped numbers to the top, with rammer below. Percussion firing action and unmarked side plate, with brass trigger guard and twin sling mounts. The butt numbered 506. 130 cm. A Pattern 53/6 gun that may well have been converted following the Indian Mutiny.
