A SECOND WORLD WAR JAPANESE FLAG CAPTURED AT KOHIMA. A second World War Japanese flag with numerous signatures, 67 x 82cm. According to family tradition this flag was captured by the vendor's father from a Japanese officer. A young officer, Lieutenant (probably acting Captain) Graham Andrews-Speed (1920-74) served with the Royal Engineers, whilst serving with the 2nd Division at the relief and siege of Kohima and following counter-offensive he captured this flag and retained it as souvenir of his service for the rest of his life.
In Second World War relic condition. Poor condition, with thin areas and holes.
