* This is by an early 17th Century follower of Bloemaert who was a leading member of the Utrecht Caravaggisti, a group of artists greatly influenced by Caravaggio. The composition derives from an engraving by Jan Muller (c.1593). The location of Bloemaert's original oil is unknown.
Unlined; scattered retouching over damages; craquelure throughout (but not lifting); needs a clean.
